In a world where movement and change are certain the ceramic process archives the textures of time. With the future of humanity, nature, and material in mind I create sculptures, paintings, and jewelry that celebrate the alien-like ability humans have to transform nature into art.
As a ceramic based artist I am always looking for the most plastic and colorful clay bodies which has led me to explore Polymer clay; the most plastic and colorful clay. Polymer clay has qualities somewhere between clay and paint which has allowed me to create plastic slab paintings and jewelry with a ceramic sensibility.
Collage is at the foundation of my studio practice. I cut and paste gathered and developed forms, images, and materials that begin to create new worlds and languages. I am interested in offering the viewer a chance to explore and own parts of real and imaged space where language becomes cryptic and hermetic.
